The E.L.I.A. Library contains at present more than 100,000 volumes of books, magazines, almanacs and newspapers from the 19th century onwards and is considered as one of the most important - and in some subjects one of the most complete - libraries in the country.
ELIA, in an effort to reorganize the collections of its library, has installed the “Advance” software, aiming at optimum processing and handling of the material, as well as to prompt services to researchers. This project has encompassed a significant part of the collection of 20th century books and periodicals, while all library collections are scheduled to be included in it, so that in future these will be accessible on the Internet through the “Advance” catalogue.
