Elias Vlanton

A Washington-based educator and writer, Elias Vlanton (Vlantonopoulos) has studied US archives on Greece for more than 45 years. Based on his research, he wrote the book Who Killed George Polk: The Press Covers Up a Death in the Family (1996) and other articles on Greek history. He has degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and John Hopkins University, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. 

Ο Elias Vlanton (Ηλίας Βλαντονόπουλος), εκπαιδευτικός και συγγραφέας που ζει στην Ουάσινγκτον, έχει αφιερώσει περισσότερα από 45 χρόνια στη μελέτη τεκμηρίων των αμερικανικών αρχείων που αφορούν την Ελλάδα. Με βάση τις έρευνές του, έγραψε το βιβλίο Who Killed George Polk: The Press Covers Up a Death in the Family (1996). Έχει επίσης δημοσιεύσει αρκετά άρθρα σχετικά με τη νεότερη ελληνική ιστορία. Είναι πτυχιούχος του Washington University στο Σαιντ Λούις και του John Hopkins University, καθώς και Επίτιμος Διδάκτορας του St. Mary’s College στο Μέριλαντ.
