... from the shoe stretcher shop of Ioannis Poeitedes

Poeitedes, born in Poros of Cappadocia, arrived in Cokkinia, Piraeus in 1927, with his family. At the age of 11 he started working in a tannery, while he attended the night primary school and then the night Commercial School. Five years later he decided to become a carpenter and started his own workshop of wooden shoe stretchers. In 1999, when Ioannis Poeitedes retired, E.L.I.A. bought the whole of the equipment and products of his shop.
